- Guide caller to hide, silence their phone, or escape if safe.
- Provide officers with suspect description and movement information.
Sample Call Transcript
CALL TAKER: 911, what is the address of your emergency
CALLER: It is Central Mall, I hear gunshots, he is shooting.
CALL TAKER: Which city is Central Mall in
CALLER: Franklin, please hurry.
CALL TAKER: Are you inside the mall right now
CALLER: Yes, I am in a clothing store, the doors are open.
CALL TAKER: I need you to go to a back room or fitting room if there is one, close and lock any door you can.
CALLER: Okay, I am going, hold on.
CALL TAKER: You are doing great. Stay low and stay quiet.
CALL TAKER: Do you see the person with the gun or did you see them before you went inside
CALLER: I saw a man with a long gun near the food court, he was wearing a dark hoodie.
CALL TAKER: About how old does he look and what race is he
CALLER: Maybe in his twenties, white, wearing a backpack.
CALL TAKER: Officers are already being sent. Keep your phone on silent and do not leave that room until police come to you.
